I have always loved music. As a young girl, no matter what was happening in my life I always had music to transport me to a wonderful place…I gave in to the artist and allowed them to take me on their journey.
And I do very much the same thing today.
As much as I like the music (there’s nothing like a beat that makes you want to get up and dance!), the lyrics are equally important to me. These last couple of weeks, my CD player has been rotating between 3-different CD’s:
Alicia Keys: As I Am
She is an incredible artist. And I love that with each new release, she get’s better and better. Her latest masterpiece, “As I Am” is a beautiful example of an evolving artist (and brand).
Jennifer Lopez: Brave
I’m a huge JLo fan (gotta support my Puerto Rican sister!) and this CD is awesome. She has some terrific dance beats but the song I can’t get enough of is titled “Mile in These Shoes.”
Mary J. Blige: Reflections
No other artist combines funk and soul like MJB. She is the reigning Queen! This retrospective is fantastic and “Be Happy” and “My Life” are amongst my all-time favorites.
